My daughter just loves her Fab Kids Wear! FabKids delivers high quality, ready-to-play boys and girls clothing & shoes every month!
While practicing yoga at home to a short DVD routine, I looked over at my daughter saw her in the same yoga position as I was. She followed along trying her best and when we were finished she said "Mama, I like doing yoga!" She is now practicing yoga at school with Miss Mary & her classmates and loves bringing her mat in on "yoga day".
I have since found Namaste Kid and found her favorite yoga DVD "Once Upon a Mat". Once Upon a Mat brings your child on exciting yoga adventures, including an African safari, a trip to outer space, and getting caught in a thunderstorm! Once Upon a Mat helps children exercise their bodies and expand their imaginations. My little yogi has become a part of this adventure through real yoga poses and guided breathing.

Does your child love music? I guarantee you both will be singing and tapping your feet to one of our favorites - Ellis Paul "Hero in You"!
I took my daughter to see Ellis Paul at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento and it was such a great musical experience, Karly has been singing his songs ever since!
It is my understanding that Ellis's next book will be released in September 2015 with FREE holiday music! Yippee!!!

Before my daughter was born our neighbors had a Baby Shower for us. More specifically, a "Book" Baby Shower. I can't tell you how many wonderful and classic books we received...and no duplicates! We had so much fun creating my daughter's library with books we knew would be around for a very long time.
My daughter is now four years old and will be heading to Kindergarten in the Fall. We have been reading The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. In this contemporary classic Chester Raccoon seeks love and reassurance from his mother as he ventures out into the world to attend his very first day of school. When Chester the raccoon is reluctant to go to kindergarten for the first time, his mother teaches him a secret way to carry her love with him.
It is truly a sweet and touching book. I suggest this book to any parent with growing children heading out into the world of new beginnings.

There are lots of fun educational community project to get kids involved in at an early age. We chose to create a food donation drive for our local Food Bank. Organizing it was easy and the kids had fun decorating the donation barrels with pictures of families and kids sitting down to eat a meal. They learned that not everyone gets to eat three meals a day, and that some kids go without lunch everyday. This put our kids into action! They wanted to help get a yummy lunch on the table for those who miss out on what we take for granted.
In addition to the food drive, the kids also wanted to collect books for the Sacramento Food Bank Youth Education Program. My daughter and I spent time going through her books that she no longer reads and that she wanted to share with others.
It's simple, and a good start to learning how to make a difference.
Here's your challenge: Find your local food bank and start a donation drive. Whether it's food, books, or clothing...it's educational and a great way to help our kids feel like they too can find a way to give back to our communities.
Let me know about your donation drive and I'll gladly post your photos and ideas right here with plenty of kudos!
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, my daughter and I jumped right to Pinterest and Etsy for a few fun Valentine ideas. Can you guess which one...well two, my daughter wants to make?
Stay tuned. I'll post our Valentine making success in early February.
We'd love to see your Valentine ideas!
